  COMPANY BACKGROUND Hydropower Development Policy 1991, Electricity Act 1993 and Electricity by laws 1993 have opened avenues for private sector investment in hydroelectric project development in Nepal.   Overview With the main objective of providing institutional credit for enhancing the production and productivity of the agricultural sector in the country, the Agricultural Development Bank, Nepal was established in 1968 under the ADBN Act 1967, as successor to the cooperative Bank. The Land Reform Savings Corporation was merged with ADBN in 1973. Subsequent amendments to the Act empowered the bank to extend credit to small farmers under group liability and expand the scope of financing to promote cottage industries. The amendments also permitted the bank to engage in commercial banking activities for the mobilization of domestic resources. The bank worked as a premier rural credit institution since its establishment, contributing substantial agricultural credit supply in the country. Sardi khola is a town and Village Development Committee in Kaski District in the Gandaki Zone of northern-central Nepal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 7027 persons living in 1745 individual households. Sardi Khola Hydropower Station (Nepali: सार्दी खोला जलविद्युत आयोजना) is a run-of-river hydro-electric plant located in Kaski District of Nepal. The flow from Sardi River is used to generate 4 MW electricity. The plant is owned and developed by Mandakini Hydropower Pvt. Ltd., an Independent Power Producers Association Nepal (IPP) of Nepal. The plant started generating electricity from 2074-08-23 BS. The generation licence will expire in 2105-03-12 BS, after which the plant will be handed over to the government.
